I’m constantly amazed at all the people on social media who want to tell me how awful it is in the city where I live. Unfailingly, it’s people who don’t live in San Francisco and mostly people who’ve never been to here.
I’m constantly amazed at all the people on social media who want to tell me how awful it is in the city where I live. Unfailingly, it’s people who don’t live in San Francisco and mostly people who’ve never been to here.
And now begins the political analysis of “What does it all mean??”
Humbled, grateful, and amazed to have my artwork included in an episode of The Simpsons.
It can be seen during the end credits of the episode, “Not It,” a parody of Stephen King’s “It.” The episode First aired October 23, 2022.
This was selected as one of the grand prize winners in The Simpsons Krusty the Clown Fan Art Challenge.
Go create and express yourselves, people, cuz sometimes pretty cool stuff comes of it.
You can see a video of the fan art and end credits in this tweet.
Here’s another alternate creepy Krusty the Clown I did for the Simpsons Fan Art Challenge - scary or creepy Krusty the Clown art to be featured during the end credits of The Simpsons episode airing Sunday.
It’s a play on the network executives who like to give notes to tv shows, often contrary to the intent and desire of the creatives.
Given that the rules stated no images with hate or harm aimed at a specific group, I figured this wasn’t the one to enter.
But it might be popular with the writers room.
Watch The Simpsons on Sunday, October 23rd and we’ll see which images were picked as winners!
And now for something a little different. This is a design I did for a Simpsons Fan Art contest- they asked for scary and creepy Krusty the Clown images to go with their episode airing Sunday, “Not It,” a parody of Stephen King’s “It.”
Winning artwork will be included during the end credits of the episode.
Each person could only submit one entry. This is one I didn’t enter, but still really liked.
For those who’ve followed a while, you might know I’m a big fan of The Simpsons; it’s the greatest show in tv history and yes, still really funny. A few years ago I had a t-shirt design noticed by one of the show runners, which wound up getting referenced in an actual episode. You can catch that whole story at http://www.garthtoons.com/white-malik-fan-club
Tune in Sunday to catch the new episode and we’ll find out which artwork they included with the end credits!
Today is the day to unveil my latest bootleg Simpsons shirt, in honor of The Simpsons panel discussion this morning at the D23 Expo. Bummed that I’ll miss the panel but still gotta represent the greatest show of all time.
This years drawing is based on the phenomenon of The Simpsons predicting the future. Everything from Disney buying Fox, to President Trump, to people demanding that museums cover up the nudity in the state of David, even Nobel prize winners. Over 34 seasons, the show has an uncanny ability to have jokes come true. After I started this design I heard that they’ll even have an episode in the upcoming season talking about this phenomenon.
In all, there are 16 Simpsons predictions in the image.
And I’ll be wearing it tomorrow at the D23 Expo! Hope you enjoy!
When your son is the world’s biggest (only?) fan of the obscure Spider-Man villain, Big Wheel, you cook up a specially made t-shirt design for him. Not drawn by me, but photoshopped from a Spider-Man comic book cover to make it highlight Big Wheel instead Spider-Man.
